Notes from the Book Tour

Elaine at motorcycleThank you for making my tour of The Sweetest Hallelujah a success! In two weeks, I drove 1,700 miles, signed at 8 bookstores, did 3 TV interviews and 2 radio interviews. It was exhilarating, exhausting, and fun. I had my cousin Shirley on the first leg of the tour, and my childhood friend Jane on the second leg.
By the time I wound up the long trek in Jackson, longtime fan Lee was there to revive me with a platter of gluten free brownies and an invitation to kick back and have fun. And boy, did we ever! We shopped all over Flowood then loaded the car with our goodies and headed off to Table 100 where we ate too much and laughed a lot.

Just as we were finishing dinner, pianist Thomas Vaughn sat down at the baby grand and started playing “Crazy.” It was my mama’s favorite song and I live to sing (besides writing, of course), so I Elaine with pianistwalked toward the piano belting it out! I know about two lines in every song you can name, so I spent the evening singing along with Tommie, celebrating a successful tour and having a marvelous evening with Jane and Lee.
So now we’re winding up August and the big giveaway I’ve been talking about on the blog. This weekend I’ll put the names in a hat of everybody who had commented here, and pull out the winners! Check back on the last two blogs to read about the prizes because I have to race off now and write, write, write! I’m revising my second book and want to wind up so I can start the third!

  1. I’m going to be just a little late announcing the winners, so please be patient. As usual, I’m up to my ears in deadlines, and I have to finish revisions on my second book this week so my fans will love it as much as you love THE SWEETEST HALLELUJAH. By the way, we have a working title for the second book, and I’ll let you know as soon as it’s firm.

Do be patient! Prizes will be announced here, hopefully by the end of the week!

I wish I could have made it “up North” to see you. I have great hopes you can make it to Columbus Ga for the book tour for “Elvis”. I am half way through the “Sweetest”. Parts of it have made me cry. Looking forward to finishing it. Dang woman, You can write. I can see this on the Hallmark Channel. If it comes to that, maybe you can sing the theme. Glad you had fun.

We did have fun, didn’t we??!! Loved hearing you sing and meeting Jane! Hugs! The invitation is open for whenever you are in Jackson.
